On the 19th to the 22nd October Mnambithi TVET College together with the Office of the youth from Inkosi Langalibalele Municipality partnered and made thing easy for prospective students to apply for 2027 admission. The week-long roadshow was strategically structured to reach communities that often face geographic and digital barriers when applying for higher education. The drive moved through four key areas around Estcourt namely, Loskop, Weenen, Ntabamhlophe and Estcourt Town Hall. The event had an overwhelming turnout from local matriculants and unemployed youth. Engagement remained exceptional high as lines formed early in the morning. The team brought application and advisory services directly to rural applicants.
A major highlight of this year’s drive was the official rollout of the QCTO Programmes for 2027. These occupational qualifications are specifically designed to address South Africa’s skills shortage by blending theoretical knowledge with practical, real-world workplace experience. By introducing these programmes, the institution aims to give local youth a competitive edge in the market, transitioning them directly from classrooms to careers.
Recognising that financial constrains and complex application processes often hinder higher education access, the Inkosi Langalibalele Municipality’s Youth Office played an important role throughout the drive.
This collaboration effort highlights a shared commitment to youth empowerment and community upliftment ensuring the next generation of leaders.
